Gee-Gees end league play with 3-0 win over Ryerson
(OUA Quarter Final set for Toronto - February 15 @ 2:00pm)
The
Gees ended their regular season on a strong note with a 3-0 win
over the Ryerson Rams
(25-20, 25-8, 25-20). The win puts Ottawa at 13-4 for the season
and tied for second in the OUA East Division.
The
match also marked the last home appearance by three fifth year
seniors:
Amanda Morgan, Kara Zakrzewska and Amanda Purdy.
This
match was special for a lot of reasons. Our team is preparing
for the playoffs and every chance to compete against another team
is a chance to get better. I liked the attitude of this team tonight
and we are all looking forward to a big battle next weekend.
Coach Woods said. Finally, to see those three seniors tonight
on the floor when the final whistle blew was a great tribute to
them and their contribution to this program.
Ottawa
heads to Toronto for their quarter-final match versus the Toronto
Varsity Blues next Saturday, February 15 at 2:00pm.
