Gee-Gees Finish Weekend with 3-0 Win over Laurier

The Gees weren’t in a hospitable mood as the pushed hard the entire match to capture their sixth win of the year. The win was the fourth in a row and keeps the Gees two points up on third place York in the East Division.

Ottawa started out fast and took a commanding 20-13 lead late in the first set. Ottawa continued to push and quickly finished the set 25-17. The second set was much the same, with Ottawa winning
25-19.

Laurier kept fighting and made the Gees earn the win as the Hawks jumped to an early 8-6 lead. Ottawa, however, was not willing to let the opportunity slip away and regrouped to capture the third set 25-18, and win the match 3-0.

“Today’s match gave us what we were looking for.... a tough match but, another win.” Coach Woods said after the game. “Our team is working hard and today’s result was the product of their hard work and commitment. I’m very proud of them right now and we have one more match before the Christmas break. We have a week to prepare and then we throw everything we’ve got against Queens next weekend.”
