Gee-Gees Volleyball Loses Down To The Wire
Match Against the University of Toronto Varsity Blues

The Gees lost a hard-fought match to the Blues to even their season recond at
2-2. The first set was a point for point battle until 16-16 when the Blues managed to take a three point advantage. Toronto held on to take the first set 25-18.

The second set went down to the wire with Ottawa having two opportunities to close out the set but Toronto kept fighting and finally took the set 30-28 in a 32 minute match.

The third set was another tough struggle, as both teams failed to take a clear-cut point advantage. The Blues finally pulled out the set with a 26-24 win.

“This was a great match, a tough loss because of the calibre of the play. I think no one wanted the match to end. Toronto played great, they dug everything we threw at them. We learned a lot tonight and we just have to keep on working at getting better. We’re getting there, and tonight’s match was a big step in the right direction.” Head Coach Lionel Woods commented after the game.
