Gee-Gees Grab Preseason Bronze At Mac Invitational

The Gee-Gees women's volleyball team grab an early sason medal as they continued to tune up for the league opener set for October 26th at home against York University.

Coach Woods and his staff approached the touranment as another opportunity to balance the depth and talent on this year's squad. The bronze medal seemed to be a bonus to the overall goal of the weekend;

" We finished with the bronze but most impressive is that out of 20 sets played in 5 matches, all of the 14 players on our roster played at least 10 sets ! We had a plan going into the weekend to play our entire roster as much as we could; we stuck to it regardless of the wins and the losses and we still came out, only losing to one team in the end !" (Coach Woods)

Bronze medal match on Sunday:
Ottawa win 3-1 (25 - 23 / 22- 25 / 25 - 22 / 25 - 19)

* Amanda Purdy played a small amount as she continues to recover from ACL injury
