Gee-Gees Volleyball:
Still Perfect At Home Win Over Lakehead

Ottawa continued its strong play at home with a 3-0 win over Queen’s Golden Gaels. The victory moves the Gees into second place in the OUA East Division.

The Gee-Gees came out storming in the first set and rolled to a 16-5 lead. After the
initial run by Ottawa, Queen’s settled in and battled back to close the gap to 24-22. Ottawa refused to let it get away, dug in and took the first set 25-22.

The Gees’ team desire seized the opportunities and they fought Queen’s challenges every set to win the final two set 25-22, 25-23.

“After last weekend, this team knew it had something to prove and they came out swinging. All we talked about this week was recapturing who we are showing what we are capable of doing.” Head Coach Lionel Woods said after the game. “The players banded together and made tonight’s match happen. We now go and get ready for another tough match next weekend.”

The Gee-Gees next home match will be Saturday Nov. 22 2003, versus York University at 2:00 pm.
