Ottawa Opens Season With 3-0 Win Over Lakehead

The Ottawa Gee-Gees Volleyball Team opened its 2005-06 campaign with a 3-0 win over the visiting Lakehead University Thunderwolves (25-20, 25-16, 25-17).

After an intense pre-season schedule which saw the Gees travel and compete against top ten teams across the country, Ottawa was excited to open their season at home. This year’s team is led by 5th year co-captain #11 Manon Ouellette and 4th co-captain # 10 Melissa Maddocks.

Tonight’s match marked the debut of six rookies to the squad: #8 Ariane Thibault, #12 Julia Griesel, #13 Kaely Whillans, #14 Karine Gagnon and #15 Joanie Bauregard-Veillette.

Ottawa will host Lakehead University tomorrow, Saturday, October 21, at 2:00 pm.
