GEE-GEES STAY PERFECT AT HOME FOR 05-06 SEASON
WITH BIG 3-1 WIN OVER LAURIER

The Gee-Gees volleyball team avenged an early January defeat to the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks with a convincing 3-1 win (25-22, 24-26,25-21, 25-20). The win keeps the Gees in second place in the OUA East Division (at 13-4) and in the running to host the first round of the OUA playoffs vs York.

“That is the team that we see in practice every day. It is a great feeling for our entire team to see that fight and desire start showing up in matches. The playoffs will be a shootout and we need to continue getting performances like this if we want to take a serious run at the Championship.” Head Coach Lionel Woods commented after the match.

The Gees will finish out their season next weekend against East Division rivals the Royal Military College Paladins (February 10, 7:00 pm) and the first place University of Toronto Varisty Blues (February 11, 6:30 pm).
