Gee-Gees improve to 12-4 and 8-0
at home this season
with 3-0 win over Queen's
The
Gee-Gees volleyball team won in straight sets over the visiting
Queen’s Golden Gaels (25-19, 32-30, 25-18) tonight at Montpetit
Hall in Ottawa. The win makes it 8 consecutive wins at home this
season for the Gees and moves them six points ahead of York for
second place in the OUA East Division.
“This
was a big win for us after a tough road trip last weekend. It
is going to come right down to the wire to see who will host the
quarter final match between us and York. We still have a couple
of tough matches left down the stretch against Laurier and then
Toronto, but I like this schedule. We finish the season with four
home matches to prep for playoffs including our season finale
against first place Toronto.” Head Coach Lionel Woods said
after the win.
The
Gees will next host the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday,
February 4, 2006 at 6:30 pm in Monpetit Hall. This promises to
be a great match for spectators as the Gees look to avenge their
loss to Laurier from the Quality Hotel Ottawa tournament early
in the new year.
