ends university career 1st team CIS All-Canadian

Women's volleyball: Fifth-year leftside/rightside hitter Christine
Lamey (Kanata, Leisure Studies) ended her university
career as a 2007-08 first-team CIS All-Canadian after being named
one of the elite seven on Wednesday night - the eve of the 2008
national tournament in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Lamey,
23, a second-team All-Canadian last season, becomes uOttawa's
first first-team All-Canadian since Leslie Irie (the current head
coach of the University of Saskatchewan women's volleyball team)
in 1986-87.
Lamey
was the 2007-08 CIS leader in points-per-game (4.76) and was second
in Canada with 4.08 kills-per-game.
The
Gee-Gees 2007-08 co-captain, Lamey is looking to continue playing
beach volleyball and pursue professional opportunities in Europe.
The
Gee-Gees earned a bronze medal at last weekend's OUA Final Four
tournament, won by McMaster.
