GEE-GEES VOLLEYBALL SUMMER TRAINING PROGRAM
FOR FIRST YEAR PLAYERS

Below you will find a list of PDF files that you can use as a complete summer training program designed specifically for entering athletes. It is built based on 3 month summer prepartion cycle and is designed to help young athletes develop the base of fitness and strength required to step to the next level of training and competition.

It must be understood that any athlete that intends to follow the suggested exercises and program elements should do so UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A QUALIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER.

The elements and suggested exercises in this program demand a high level of technical execution and proper technique to avoid injury - we do not recommend that anyone attempt this program without first receiving expert instruction and guidance on the proper execution of the program elements.

The strength training program attached is specifically designed to help athletes prepare for the physical demands of volleyball. It involves weight training components, agility & sprint components as well as necessary rest and recovery days.

Please do not operate with the assumption that if this is good then "more must be better". Only a proper balance of work and rest / recovery will help your body develop in the proper manner.

As a final note - we recommend that you keep a log of the workouts that you do for increased motivation as well as information that you can refer back to as you look to improve your results over the summer.
